Comments: (Omar Domenech): Photographs by Roy and Bill Davenport. This is the latest edition of Lewis Ganson's classic book on card manipulation. The original book was published in 1945 by "Academy of Recorded Crafts, Arts and Sciences Limited". It covers all aspects of classic card manipulation including: productions, vanishes, fanning, and flourishes. In addition to teaching the sleights necessary for a manipulation act, Ganson's book includes 3 full routines and some valuable advice and ideas on creating your own manipulation based acts.

In the original book, Ganson made reference to the book "Exhibition Card Fans" by Goodlette Dodson. Because that book has been out of print for many years, the Lewis Davenport edition of Expert Manipulation of Playing Cards includes all the necessary excerpts from that book in their own section in the back. These aren't small excerpts, they are complete sections of the book adding up to 43 pages of information on card fanning and featuring new, high quality photographs illustrating the techniques. Some of the fans in that book are excellent visual techniques that are seldom seen performed today.
