Comments: Most of these feats should not be attempted as they can cause actual harm. Some use chemicals, and others actually introduce the body to possible harmful effects such as burning, or infection from piercing, etc. There are some that are pure illusions.
Lloyd Jones notes, "This material was sold by Mr. Ovette in
manuscript, mimeographed form in the early twenties. Re-editing
has eliminated extraneous material and reference to current
opinion. A few extra items from Mr. Ovette's long list of secrets
has also been added, thus making, I believe, this material even
more valuable in interesting." I do not have a copy of the Lloyd
Jones edition; the contents below are from an earlier manuscript
without the added effects.
